MAKE YOUR OWN .cue FILES

Post by TheAnomaly » Thu Nov 11, 2004 1:03 pm

How to make your own cue files

What are cue files?
Cue files are associated with CD image files (.bin files). A cue file contains information on how .bin files are to be used and burned.
Read the following tutorial to better understand .bin and .cue files:
How to use bin/cue files http://sharethefiles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2305

If you only have the .bin and not the .cue, there are two options:
1) You can download a program to create a .cue file for you.
2) You can create your own .cue file using Notepad.

Option 1:
Download the program (Lior's Cue Maker) by clicking here.

Open the program and browse to the directory where the .bin file is located (use the browsing tool on the left):

Next, choose a data type. After selecting a data type, press Generate:

Finally, a window will pop-up saying your .cue file has been created and saved:

The .cue file is automatically created in the same folder as the .bin file. You
can change the output folder if you want (Just change it before you press Generate).

Creating your own .cue files using Notepad

Creating a .cue file for PC CD-ROMS:

Open up Notepad. Simply copy the information shown below.

Code: Select all

FILE "image-name.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
The first line is the name of the .bin file. Replace "image-name.BIN" with the
name of the bin file. For example:

Code: Select all

FILE "SIMANT.BIN" BINARY
Save the file as a .cue file. Make sure it is not a .cue.txt extension because that is still a text file.
You should name it with the same name as the bin file. Example:

SIMANT.bin
SIMANT.cue

That's it! You can now burn the .bin image file with your own instructions.
