Logitech Z-5500 Hidden Tricks

Post by stevenrollastercoon » Fri Sep 05, 2008 1:34 pm

These tricks work with the logitech z5500. Their the best PC speakers on the market and retail for $300. Though you can save $100 from buying on ebay. I'd reccomend getting a proper $100+ sound card too (not integrated)

2ed skin: This is useful if u want more control over each level or think it's too loud

Put the speaker in standby mode (power button). Now press and hold down: Input, Effect, Settings and Mute buttons simultaniusly for about 6 sec, the display shoud now read "2nd Skin On"

The power button will now be purple as oppose to red.

I have all my inpc speaker setup at 100% and only put my mp3's at level 3. Movies ususally 6-8. Which is double to 3x as loud as the movie theatre. Anything above that gives me a headache

On the 1st skin the speaker has 20 volume levels, there's actually 22 hidden volume levels for a total of 42

WARNING DOING THIS WILL BLOW UR SPEAKERS AND UR EARS. DON'T BE AN IDIOT. IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR UR STUPIDITY. Might be ok with skin 2 though

Boost Mode: Keep turning the volume knob up and you'll see boost. Works up to level 11

Uber Boost Mode: When at max boost hold the mute button down and keep on turing it up. It will now go up to boost level 22

Volume+: This mode can be combined with the Boost mode for some serious damage

Basically up to volume+11. So volume one would really be volume 12. Can only go to boost 12 with this.

Hold down the mute button and turn the knob up

Diagnostic Mode: Put it in standby and hold Input and Effect buttons for 6sec.

This is also useful if you messed up your settings as it will reset them

Firmware checker: Put the speakers in standby mode and press the Input and Effect button for 6 sec. It will flash ur firmware version

Also works with some of the other logitech speakers. Not sure. PM if works and I'll add to the compatibility list
