TWS2 is buggy for some users so you may just be one of the unlucky ones where your hardware combinations doesn't play well with this game.
One example seem to be AMD HD 7-series ( http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=531017 )
If you don't have top-of-the-line video card try lowering graphics settings in the game to a lower level than game suggests.

Make sure to update to the newest driver for BOTH video card and sound card. To get the newest drivers you often need to go to the websites of the manufactors of the video/sound hardware instead of the website for computer/motherboard website which isn't always updated to the newest.
It also a good idea to update any other drivers that may be obsolete like motherboard drivers. And also fully update your Windows including service pack.

This program is also very RAM heavy. How much RAM do you have? If you don't have alot it can be good idea to increase the size of virtual RAM.
In Win7: Righ-click My computer -> Properties -> Advanced system settings -> Performance - Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory - Change.
Then uncheck 'Automatically manage....' -> click system drive in list -> click 'Custom size'. Then set 'Initial size' to a bit over the Recommended value (shown in button of window) and set 'Maximum size' to about double of 'Initial size' (if you have enough harddrive space for it). Finish with multiple clicks on OK and restart computer.
If you have 32bit windows you should also follow this guide to increase virtual addressing space: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=238484

Also run a DXDIAG to tst DirectX settings. In Win7 do it by pressing Windows button + R, then write dxdiag in command field and press Enter.
When it finishes the test you can press 'Save all information' and post contents of it here. BUT post it inside a Code tag (press Code button above post txtfield) so your post doesn't take up tons of space.

You can also try Game Booster ( http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html ). It is free if you download it within the next 14 days.

You can also try the RIP-version: viewtopic.php?f=82&t=216987&p=1232562
It is build from the same SKIDROW/VOVAN combination, so might not make a difference, but the cracking is done for you, so might help if problem is there.
You still need to avoid detection of steamfucker.dll and block game from internet access. Download is only 4GB, but takes a long time (hours) to unpack.
Read the NFO posted with the RIP-version for more info and instructions.

Note that both the version here and the RIP-version can take a long time to load, so if ou think it is frozen give it plenty of time to load.

No, as I already have mentioned there is no other working crack/patch at the moment.
So either follow some of the suggestions in my 2 last posts or wait till a patch comes (if ever).
You could start the download of RIP-version and perform some of the troubleshooting steps while you wait like updating drivers and windows, posting dxdiag log, increasing virtual memory etc.

Hi there :) - I'm trying to download the vovan crack, but my download has been on 'waiting' for quite some while now - is it because no one is uploading it?

Could you post the fulle error message? Is it "C++ Runtime error R6030 CRT not initialized"
If so you properly failed to install some of the redists.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=29
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5638
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=3387
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5582
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5555
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8328
(if you have x64 you can also install the 64-bit versions)

You can also go to the redists folder of the game and run all the install there (even if you think you already have it).
Here you will find these files:

---vcredist_x86_90.exe
---vcredist_x86.exe
---vcredist_x86-sp1.exe

Install them in the above order, reboot, and play.

Also make sure to run game with admin rights (Run as administrator) if you're on Vista/Win7.
You can also check for corrupt system files by running the following command in the Run-field:
sfc /scannow

I believe it contains these (but not 101% sure):
ncf / total war shogun 2 czech.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 english.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 french.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 german.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 italian.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 polish.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 russian.ncf
ncf / total war shogun 2 spanish.ncf

Remember to use the vovan crack, make sure steamfucker.dll is not blocked by antivirus and make sure to block access to internet by firewall or disconnect.
Also try to install all redists during install even if you think you already have them. This way you're sure you have the correct versions needed for game.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums here but I've been trying to install this and the older FLT version of just Shogun. I haven't been able to get through a complete install of fall of the samurai the 22.35 gig version from SKIDROW. I keep getting an error early at movies.pack saying it is corrupted. I know that isn't the case because I've forced rechecked and downloaded 3 times from different sites. I've never been able to sucessfully complete an installation. If I ignore I get other .pack errors later in the installation. How do I correct this as I've downloaded and rechecked from multiple sources. Any help's appreciated!

Have you tried downloading using the links from this thread? (You said different sites, but not if STF was one of them)
Corruption can also be caused by hard drive, so try to change your download & temp location to a different drive if possible.
Do you install by mounting or burning? It is best to mount as burning can also create errors.
Try mounting with Virtual CloneDrive (which is also good at handling multiple disc installs): http://static.slysoft.com/SetupVirtualCloneDrive.exe

Do you think Daemon tools is adequate. Its weird that its happening for so many different downloads its telling me something maybe is interfering on my computer side but its the movies.pack just says its corrupt or something. I'll dl from here.

Daemon can sometimes have problems with disc changing and can also conflict with other STPD drivers like CloneDVD and others, so if you have something like that installed Slysoft's Virtual CloneDrive is preferable. You can also have been unlucky and getting bad sources so getting it here will guarantee a legit release. If the same happens see if you can see the file manually by browsing the ISO and possibly copy it elsewhere. If you can you can just ignore during install and move the missing file afterwards (although annoying). Also try running the setup with admin rights (start manually with Run as administrator instead of autorun)

First of, did your antivirus complain about steamfucker.dll in the crack? If it did the file is now locked and doesn't work any longer which it needs to.

Else look below:
Did you select the right version DX9/11?
To test your firewall block you can try to disconnect the cable and run game again to see if it makes any difference.
Also a good idea to update your video and sound card driver.

^ Are you having problems with sources or downloadin at all?

This is a ed2k-forum, so all links are ed2k-links which you need a eMule client to download.
The original unmodded client can be found here: http://www.emule-project.net/
See more about how to get it up and running in our guide: viewtopic.php?t=24613

If you meant sources then post or PM me your eMule username and I'll give you a friendslot.

I'm guessing it's your antivirus that's blocking it as steamfucker can cause false-positives.
So depending on your brand of antivirus you might have the following options
(try applying crack after each step to see if it works with your antivir):

1) Add steamfucker.dll to Excluded/Allowed/Exception files
2) Add folder of crack and folder of game to Exception/Excluded folders. (Meaning the copy-from and copy-to location)
3) Disable antivirus (this mighth let you copy, but if it locks DLL again when turned on you're just as far as DLL is needed by game)
4) Uninstall antivirus and switch to one that doesn't cause as many falsepositives or one that'll let add exceptions
(Some antivirus software pretty much ignore if you click Allow/Exclude etc. and still keep a file locked)

Ps. Sometimes you'll need to redownload the crack to get it unlocked again (after setting exceptions etc.)
