Postby dev » Sat Mar 21, 2009 3:22 pm

This package includes eac3to v3.16 and additional decoders/encoders for best audio quality transcoding.

----------------------------------------------------
Inside:
----------------------------------------------------

eac3to v3.16
Nero AAC Encoder 1.3.3.0
Sonic Dolby Digital Encoder 3.1
SurCode DTS-DVD v1.0.29.0
ArcSoft
Nero 7

----------------------------------------------------
Installation:
----------------------------------------------------

1. Copy "eac3to" to directory of Your own choosing.

2. Install first "arcsoft_totalmediatheatre_engintro.exe" then "totalmediatheatre_2.1.6.105_2.1.6.125_update_all.exe" from "ArcSoft" directory,
restart PC and there is no need to run ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre at all.

3. Install "Nero_7_Premium.exe" from "Nero 7 Premium" directory,
(You need only to install "Nero ShowTime")
enter serial "1C81-A0K5-19E5-MAAX-400F-A98L-8FIO",
don't install ASK toolbar,
disable Scout auto update,
go to Nero product setup and select the "Licence" option,
enter Blu-Ray activation licence code "EC06-206A-99K5-2527-940M-3227-K7XK".

4. Run "Setup.exe" from "\SurCode DTS-DVD\SurCode DTS-DVD v1.0.29.0" directory,
after installation copy file "lservrc" to SurCode DVD-DTS program directory (default "C:\Program Files\Minnetonka Audio Software\SurCode DVD-DTS").

5. Open console and go to "eac3to" directory nad type: "eac3to.exe -test", if everything works fine You should see:
eac3to (v3.16) is installed
Nero Audio Decoder (Nero 7) works fine
ArcSoft DTS Decoder (1.1.0.0) works fine
Nero AAC Encoder (1.3.3.0) is installed
Surcode DTS Encoder (1.0.29.0) is installed

6. eac3to is command-line utility, type "eac3to.exe" for options list, for more help visit: "http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966".

7. To encode into AC-3 use licensed and approved by Dolby; Sonic Dolby Digital Encoder 3.1

----------------------------------------------------
Audio Decoders:
----------------------------------------------------

AC3 decoding can be achieved through:

1. Nero 7 (version 7.8.5.0 or newer, Nero 8 won't work) accompanied with Nero Blu-ray / HD DVD plugin (commercial software)
2. libav / ffmpeg decoder (freeware, ships with eac3to package)

Nero7 uses Dolby's reference code and therefore should offer better sound quality over Libav / ffmpeg.

Nero7 is the default decoder for AC3 format.

---

E-AC3 decoding can be achieved through:

1. Nero 7 (version 7.8.5.0 or newer, Nero 8 won't work) accompanied with Nero Blu-ray / HD DVD plugin (commercial software)
2. Libav / ffmpeg decoder (freeware, ships with eac3to package)

Nero7 uses Dolby's reference code and therefore should offer better sound quality over Libav / ffmpeg.
Libav / ffmpeg would be the only one that can decode 7.1 channel audio tracks (this feature is not yet implemented though, as the decoder is still under development).

Nero7 is the default decoder for E-AC3 format.

---

TrueHD decoding can be achieved through:

1. Nero 7 (version 7.8.5.0 or newer, Nero 8 won't work) accompanied with Nero Blu-ray / HD DVD plugin (commercial software)
2. Libav / ffmpeg decoder (freeware, ships with eac3to package)

Both decode bit perfect. Nero7 is limited to 5.1 while Libav / ffmpeg can output up to 7.1 channels.

Libav / ffmpeg is the default decoder for TrueHD format.

---

DTS decoding can be achieved through:

1. Nero 7 (version 7.8.5.0 or newer, Nero 8 won't work) accompanied with Nero Blu-ray / HD DVD plugin (commercial software)
2. Libav / ffmpeg decoder (freeware, ships with eac3to package)
3. ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre (commercial software)

Nero7 and Arcosoft decoders use DTS reference code, therefore they should produce better sound quality output.
Nero7 and Libav / ffmpeg are limited to 5.1 channel decoding.
ArcSoft doesn't have any limitation.

ArcSoft is the default decoder for DTS format.

---

DTS-HD decoding can be achieved through:

1. ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre (commercial software)

ArcSoft decode bit-perfect and can output up to 7.1 channels.

ArcSoft is the default decoder for DTS-HD format.

----------------------------------------------------
Audio Encoders:
----------------------------------------------------

AC3 encoding:

Aften

---

DTS encoding:

SurCode DTS-DVD v1.0.29.0

---

AAC encoding:

Nero AAC Encoder 1.3.3.0

Nero 7 doesn't work with Windows 7 so it means Nero Audio Decoder wont work with eac3to in Win 7.
